Dili Tours

Dili the capital city of Timor-Leste/East Timor/Timor Island, on the country’s north coast exhibits on the past conflicts feature at the Timorese Resistance Museum and the Chega Exhibition, the latter of which is in a former prison. The large Cristo Rei Statue is on a hilltop east of the city, with views of Dili Bay. Landmarks in the city recalls the nation’s struggles for independence from Portugal and then Indonesia. Dili with its colonial core, in a small area of flat land hemmed in by mountains with panoramic coastal beaches to the east and west linked by a beach water front road with government buildings, with the development of new buildings and services following its past Dark History and Destruction after 20 years of Independence.
